20 years of the Association of Local Varieties

This year the Association of Local Varieties celebrates 20 years since its creation. For this reason, we have planned to carry out different activities and actions, to raise awareness of our work a little more and above all to thank the partners for their commitment and dedication to the organization.

For these 20 years we also wanted to modify our logo in order to make our trajectory visible in the actions and projects we carry out this year. You can see it in its different versions on our networks and on the web.

We have also set out to reach 220 members to celebrate 20 years, can you help us make it possible? On our website you can consult all the advantages of being a member; the more members we have, the more representation we can have before the institutions when asking for local varieties to be preserved and promoted. In addition, some of the 20-year shares are for members only, What are you waiting for to join?

Below we inform you of some of the actions we will take throughout 2022:

• Is they will draw 5 loaves of local varieties among all the members of the entity. They will be made up of fresh products made by our partners, from the local varieties they grow. These paneras will be raffled in the summer, during the members' party. To be able to win one of the paneras of local varieties you must be a member of our organization*. Besides, if you already are and manage to get a new one, you can have one double participation to the draw!
• In recent months we have been editing one video that can collect the essence of the entity and these 20 years of experience. That is why we have interviewed some of the partners, and during the first months of the year we will be publishing small samples on our networks. The full video will be presented at the members' party.
• the days The XXIII State Biodiversity Fair will be held on April 23 and 24 Cultivated, in Porreres. From our organization we organize the Fair, a task that is shared every year among the organizations that are part of the "Red de Semillas". On Saturday 23rd there will be a training and informative day for all audiences, and on Sunday 24th different entities of the state network will have an exhibition area and fair of seeds and other materials dedicated to cultivated biodiversity and local varieties .
  In addition, during these days the XV Day of Ecological Agriculture (April 24) and the XIV SEAE Congress (April 23-27) will also be held.
• June 17th was the day of creation of the entity, and for that reason on July 2nd there will be a 20th anniversary party for all members of the entity. at this party the baskets will be drawn of local varieties, the video will be presented of the 20 years of the AVL, in addition to other surprises that we will reveal as the day approaches. To come to the celebration it is necessary that you sign up to this form (until June 13).

* All members active on June 15, 2022 will be counted.
