Activities of the Cultivated Biodiversity Week

The week of October 13 to 22 is Cultivated Biodiversity Week, and we have prepared some very interesting activities for all types of audiences. All these activities are in-person and free for AVL members (the visit to Menut costs €5 for NON-members), and due to the current situation, a mask must be worn at all times. Also, places are limited, and if you cannot attend, please do not sign up.
Below is the information for each one:

Conference: Introducing agrobiodiversity in schools by sharing experiences
Date and time: Friday, October 15, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m
Place: Can Dulce (Gran Via, 15. Sóller)

Activity: Visit to the public estate and forestry center of Menut
Date and time: Saturday, October 16, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m
Place: Center Forestal CEFOR (Finca de Menut, Escorca)
Lecturer: Carles Cardona, doctorate in biology and technical manager of the Forestry Center of the Balearic Islands, will accompany us to visit the Menut facilities, with the forest nursery and seed bank of native plants.

Activity for families: Whoever sows, reaps! Autumn at the museums
Date and time: Sunday, October 17, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m
Place: Archaeological Museum of Son Fornés (Carrer Emili Pou, Montuïri)

In addition, within this week we will carry out the activities "Introduction of local varieties to school gardens" in the following educational centers: CEIP Robines (Binissalem), CEIP Es Molinar (Palma), CEIP Escola Nova (Porreres), CEIP Nadal Campaner Arrom (Costitx), CEIP Ses Marjades (Sóller), CEIP Sant Jordi, IES Santanyí and IES Binissalem.
