The exhibition "Lavors, sprouting between science and art" continues to tour Mallorca

From November 29 to February 16. Beió flour mill, Manacor.

So far it has been located in Can Domènech, Alcúdia and will travel to Manacor, thanks to the support of Manacor City Council. The inauguration will take place on Friday, November 29 at 5:30 p.m. at the flour mill in Beió, at Passeig del Ferrocarril, 79 in Manacor.

The exhibition consists of three artistic proposals that invite visitors to listen, take a closer look, manipulate and reflect on the seeds.

  • Marco Ranieri's mobile seed bank.
  • Sound seeds by Javier Forment.
  • The dance of the seeds. The germination of the knowledge of the Association of Local Varieties of Mallorca.

These three artistic proposals were winners of the call for art and science collaboration launched at the initiative of researcher Raquel Ajates, as part of the research on sustainable seed systems. The call was an initiative funded by the project El repte de la Digitalización de Llavors -awarded with the Daniel Carasso Fellowship- and the UNED, in collaboration with the Earth Museum of the Carulla Foundation and the Xarxa Planea.

After passing through Madrid and Catalonia, the interactive installation spent fifteen days at the CaixaForum in Palma thanks to the support of the Caixa Foundation, almost two months in Can Domènech, Alcúdia and now it will go to Manacor. Thanks to the impetus and local curation by the Association of Local Varieties and the support of Manacor City Council. Visitors will be able to explore the beauty, cycles and challenges of seeds through artistic and scientific proposals that invite reflection and action to conserve them.
