News of the Multiplication Project

During the spring is when the field work is the majority in the multiplication project. Our multipliers have transplanted the summer crops, such as tomatoes, peppers and lettuce, and they are also monitoring the winter crops, such as cabbages, cauliflowers and lettuces, which by now are starting to flower and seed.

In addition, these days crops that support direct sowing, such as pumpkins, melons, watermelons or beans, are already being sown. You can still do this sowing too, and you can find these seeds in ours online store, in the office and at collaborating stores.

In our office, we have already made germination pots for some varieties, and next month we will start making winter seed pots, to start the sales season for this seed in July. At the same time, seed from winter crops will begin to arrive for extraction.

Thanks to the support for the promotion of plant genetic resources from #fogaiba, we have been able to carry out these tasks of multiplying local varieties.
